Chris Barlow and Penny Lane join Contacts Photography

Contacts Photography are pleased to announce that Advertising photographer Chris Barlow, and Fashion and Beauty photographer Penny Lane are the latest shooters to join the agency’s ranks.
After gaining a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from RMIT, Barlow has spent the last 15 years working with some of the biggest brands in advertising, shooting campaigns for American Express, Coca Cola, Visa card, GSK, Telstra and Hyundai to name but a few.

Chris has always been drawn to the process of capturing an image since his first point and click at the age of twelve. Frustrated with the limitations of a crappy camera, he saved up for his first 35mm and was hooked from the first frame. Finally he could experiment with light, depth and texture, a journey that has never ended.

Penny cut her teeth shooting emerging designer labels in Perth, and co-founded a couple of multi-disciplinary design & arts studios that set about a new direction and strength in the small but prolific arts, design & fashion industry in WA.

Relocating to Melbourne, Penny continued to work across the country shooting for prominent International and Australian fashion labels including Wheels and Doll Baby. Her editorial and commercial commissions show her eye for beauty in the details and the importance of the combination of light with texture. Passionate about all things music, Penny has shot portraits for some of Australia’s brightest musicians including Empire of the Sun.

In 2010 Penny won the Photography category of the coveted QANTAS Spirit of Youth Award (SOYA) and went on to spend 2011 working and traveling to different parts of the world including and basing herself in London.  After a stellar and inspiring 3 years in the UK, Penny has relocated to Sydney and is available for commissions.
